Network Monitoring & Security – Visibility & Threat Detection

Continuous monitoring, firewall management and threat alerting for distributed teams across Queensland

Most network breaches go undetected for months. Your teams across regional sites, construction locations or multi-office setups depend on Wi-Fi and firewall that don't fail silently—but bandwidth issues, misconfigured security rules and unmonitored traffic anomalies cripple productivity and expose you to data loss.

PineSeed delivers continuous network monitoring, firewall management, threat alerting, bandwidth analysis and Wi-Fi optimisation—all integrated with your managed IT and security systems. We combine SNMP monitoring, NetFlow analysis, packet capture and threat intelligence to catch problems within minutes, not months, and we're based right here in Queensland with genuine experience on fixed wireless, Starlink and marginal NBN services that metropolitan MSPs don't understand.

Real-time SNMP monitoring, NetFlow traffic analysis and packet capture give you a complete map of what's moving across your network. Anomalies—unexpected data flows, suspicious protocols, bandwidth spikes—trigger alerts within minutes so you can investigate before damage occurs. We integrate with your existing Managed IT monitoring so firewall events, router logs and security appliance data feed one unified dashboard. Continuous Network Visibility We configure, test and optimise your firewall rules, keep threat logs reviewed and current, and architect zero-trust access policies so your distributed teams stay protected without friction. This includes rule audits to eliminate outdated policies, testing for missed-traffic scenarios, and documentation so your rules are defensible in a compliance audit. Firewall Management Suspicious inbound traffic, brute-force login attempts, malware callbacks and data exfiltration attempts are detected and blocked before they reach your servers. Alerts go straight to your security team—via email, SMS or integration into your existing security tools—so you're never blind to an active threat. Threat Alerting Identify which users, applications and sites are consuming your fixed-wireless or NBN quota, spot potential data exfiltration, and optimise traffic patterns for regional connections where every Mbps counts. We build traffic profiles so you can forecast growth and catch unusual usage patterns early. Bandwidth Analysis Site surveys identify dead spots and interference, channel and power optimisation tunes coverage and throughput, roaming performance is tested across access points, and guest networks are isolated and secured. We design for real-world conditions—multi-storey farmstead sheds, corrugated-iron construction sites, dense office buildings—not just textbook coverage maps. Wi-Fi Optimisation Network monitoring feeds directly into your broader Managed IT environment so patch status, endpoint protection, firewall rules and user access are all part of one proactive system. No more siloed tools; no more blaming 'the network guy' or 'the IT guy' when something fails. Integration with Managed IT

Critical for Distributed Teams

Multi-location agribusiness and feedlot operations

Feedlots, abattoirs, agricultural processors and livestock operations often span multiple sites with no IT person on-site at each one. A network fault at one location shouldn't cascade to the others. We monitor each site independently, alert you to problems before they affect operations, and design failover so critical systems stay online if a link goes down.

How It Works

Network Audit & Planning We map your current network—routers, firewalls, switches, access points, ISP links—and identify gaps in visibility, security rules that are outdated or too loose, and Wi-Fi coverage issues. We then design a monitoring and optimisation plan specific to your sites and traffic patterns. Deploy Monitoring & Optimisation We configure SNMP collection, NetFlow export, firewall logging, and Wi-Fi optimisation settings. Alerts are tuned to your environment so you catch real problems without false alarms. Everything feeds into your Managed IT dashboard. Continuous Monitoring & Response 24/7 monitoring alerts your team to anomalies—bandwidth spikes, suspicious traffic, failed links, Wi-Fi coverage drops. We also review logs weekly to spot trends you might miss: slow botnets, gradual QoS degradation, or access patterns that hint at compromise. Quarterly Reviews & Optimisation We review traffic patterns, firewall rule effectiveness, Wi-Fi roaming performance and threat alerts with you every quarter. Rules are refined, coverage is tweaked, and your network stays aligned with your actual usage and risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How does network monitoring work with our ISP and internet service?
We monitor the link to your ISP and the traffic flowing through it, but we don't replace ISP support. If your fixed-wireless tower is down or your NBN is congested, we see it and alert you immediately. We then work with your ISP escalation team on your behalf, and in the meantime we help you re-route critical traffic or implement QoS rules to keep essential services running. For Starlink users, we monitor satellite latency and dropouts so you can spot patterns and adjust usage or escalate to Starlink support with real data.
What happens if we're hit by a ransomware attack or data breach?
Threat monitoring alerts us the moment suspicious traffic or file access patterns appear—things like unusual data transfers to external IPs, credential spraying, or behaviour consistent with ransomware scanning. We don't wait for you to notice encrypted files. Immediate response includes isolating affected systems, blocking the attacker's command-and-control traffic, and preserving logs for forensics and recovery. You also have tested backup and disaster recovery from your Managed IT contract, so recovery doesn't depend on paying a ransom.
Can you optimise our network for NBN, fixed wireless or Starlink?
Yes. NBN is often marketed as 100 Mbps but real-world throughput is lower due to shared backhaul and network congestion—we profile your actual speeds and design traffic shaping to prioritise critical applications. Fixed wireless is similar: actual speeds depend on signal, congestion and weather, so we monitor and optimise for what you actually get. Starlink users see high latency and variable throughput; we can't fix the physics, but we tune your firewall, DNS and application settings to work well with it, and monitor it so you're not blindsided by dropouts.
Do we need new equipment to get network monitoring?
It depends. If your firewall, routers and switches support SNMP and NetFlow export, we configure them remotely—no new hardware. If they're older or don't support these features, we recommend an upgrade, and we'll specify exactly what you need. Wi-Fi optimisation often does require a site survey first; if your current access points are old or poorly placed, replacement improves both coverage and security.
How much does network monitoring cost?
Pricing depends on the number of sites, links, users and the level of threat intelligence and Wi-Fi optimisation you need. We quote custom, not fixed-tier. A single-site business with one firewall and NBN might be a few hundred a month; a multi-location setup with fixed-wireless backup and threat alerting runs higher. We integrate it into your existing Managed IT contract so you see one bill, not separate invoices.
What if we already have a firewall or monitoring tool we like?
We integrate with most enterprise-grade firewalls, switches and monitoring platforms. If you're using Meraki, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto or similar, we work with it. We configure exports, build integrations into your dashboard, and manage rules and logs. We won't rip out tools that work; we'll build on them.

Get Started

A network audit takes 2–3 hours on-site and costs nothing—we'll map your current setup, identify visibility gaps, security risks and Wi-Fi issues, and give you a clear plan and pricing. No obligation, no upsell.
